Containerised Rail Freight, Door to Door
Rapid coordinates containerised rail movements for high-volume cargo across India, working with CONCOR and its terminal network. From planning container availability to loading, rake movement and unloading, our team coordinates every stage of the journey from origin to destination.
Why Rail with Rapid
- Two decades of working within CONCOR's terminal network as a Business Associate
- One team for the complete movement: container availability, first-mile transport, terminal and rake handling, last-mile delivery and unloading
- Rail carries more cargo per unit of fuel than road, so every lane moved to rail lowers the carbon intensity of a customer's supply chain
- Our teams coordinate closely with customers, terminals and service partners at key points across the movement
- Experience across Iron & Steel, Metals & Scrap, Coal & Coke, Paper, Plywood & Panel Boards, Building Materials, Glass, Paints, and FMCG & Beverages
What Rapid Coordinates for You
Indent and container availability, loading plan, first-mile transport to the terminal, terminal and rake handling, rake movement, last-mile delivery and unloading, with documentation and compliance at every stage — giving you one point of contact for the entire movement.
Two Ways We Plan Container Availability
Plant-Positioned: containers are positioned at your plant or warehouse as inventory, where a railway siding is available, and loaded as per your dispatch programme.
Terminal-Positioned: containers are planned for placement at the terminal and moved empty to the loading point as required.
How It Works
Click a step to see what happens at each stage, or play the whole process.
Documentation and compliance: Railway receipts (RRs), weighment slips, lorry receipts and e-way bills managed throughout the movement.
Share Your Origin, Destination and Monthly Volume
Plant, warehouse or port, Rapid will propose the right Rail, Road, Coastal or combined solution — or, for export and import cargo, the right sea or air option.
